
Ptl. Nick Lamson,
Badge #146,
started with the Ewing Police
Department in September 1994 as a dispatcher. In
March 1997, he was hired as a Ewing Police Officer and
graduated the Trenton Police Academy - Class #82.
He was assigned to the Patrol Bureau. He was
eventually trained as a Field Training Officer and
Breathalyzer Operator. He also kept his CAD/911
Dispatcher certifications and assisted in the radio room
at times.
In January
2005, Ptl. Lamson was selected to become a K-9 Officer.
He was partnered with a one and a half year old German
Shephard from
Czechoslovakia named "Max". They graduated the New
Jersey State Police K-9 Scent Class and then graduated
the Atlantic City K-9 Academy Patrol Class in June 2006.
They are members of the New Jersey Detect and Render
Safe Task Force.
Ptl. Lamson and Max have trained in many different
environments such as on trains, helicopters, planes,
ferry boats. They have trained at Ellis Island
around and in the Statue of Liberty. They have
also conducted security bomb sweeps at different arenas
in the state before music concerts and gatherings.
Ptl. Lamson has received the Knights of Columbus Officer
of the Year and American Legion Officer of the Year
Awards. He has earned two Exceptional Duty Medals
and has received many letters of good conduct. He
was also awarded the Chief's Commendation Award.
